Fraudio, a seed-funded fraud detection and anti-money laundering (AML) platform serving issuers, banks, acquirers, and merchants, was relying on a completely manual outbound process.

Their single SDR was:

  • Building lead lists in Apollo, exporting CSVs, and manually reaching out without any sequencers.

  • Manually logging every opportunity in HubSpot.

  • Managing a large, unclean CRM database that lacked structure and up-to-date information.

This setup made scaling outreach and leveraging data for GTM operations nearly impossible. Fraudio needed a system that could automate outbound, clean up their CRM, and turn it into a reliable source of truth.

Solution

Lead Assassin built a Clay-powered GTM Engine that automated Fraudio’s outbound process and connected every touchpoint back to their CRM.

Using Clay, HubSpot, Slack, OutboundSync, Instantly, HeyReach, and a few custom APIs, we created a system that:

  • Automates contact list building and personalized outreach campaigns at scale.

  • Syncs outbound campaigns with HubSpot via OutboundSync. Automatically adds every contacted lead to HubSpot and updates their status instantly when they reply. Keeping their CRM accurate and up to date.

Example: This lead replied to one of our cold emails.

Before this response even happened, the lead had already been added to the CRM automatically the moment they received our outreach — which is pretty cool on its own.

It doesn’t just automatically update the lifecycle stage to SQL in HubSpot — it also logs key context like the campaign name, sequence number, and the exact message sent, along with all other relevant details.

This may look simple, but it provides valuable visibility for the sales team. It allows the Sales Person to quickly understand how the lead engaged, what campaign drove the reply, and how the conversation developed — giving them full context before the next touchpoint.

  • Cleans, enriches, and updates CRM data in real time — including legacy records.

  • Identifies prospects engaging with competitor LinkedIn pages and adds them to the automated outreach flow.

While keeping a human-in-the-loop for campaign quality control, the process became dramatically more scalable — enabling consistent, high-volume outreach with precision.
